Cursor

Add Plus to Cursor, then use your Things tasks in its agent chat.

Before you start

You need Cursor on your computer and your Things Cloud email and password. On a phone, use the Claude app or ChatGPT in a browser.

  1. Click Add to Cursor above. Let your browser open Cursor, then confirm Install.
  2. In Cursor, open Customize in the sidebar. Find plus-for-things-3 and click Login. In older versions of Cursor, it is under Settings → Tools & MCP. Your browser opens the Plus sign-in page.

Finish connecting

  1. Sign in with your Things Cloud email and password, then accept the terms. Plus uses your password once to connect and does not store it.
  2. If asked, start your 7-day free trial or choose a plan. The trial needs no card. If you already have an account, you skip this step.
  3. Let Plus load your tasks. The page shows progress and takes you back to Cursor when it is ready. You can return sooner and try again later.

Open Cursor's agent chat and try:

  • What should I work on next from my Things Today list?

Cursor asks before using a tool unless you have allowed tools to run automatically.

Add it manually instead

If the button did not work, open ~/.cursor/mcp.json to add Plus for every project, or .cursor/mcp.json to add it to one project. If the file already has other servers, add only the plus-for-things-3 entry inside mcpServers.

Then return to Customize (Settings → Tools & MCP in older versions) and click Login.

Need help?

  • No Login button? Turn the server off and on in Customize, or restart Cursor.
  • Asked to log in again? Click Login and sign in. This can happen after you change your Things Cloud password or disconnect Plus.
  • Using Cloud Agents? They sign in to Plus on Cursor's servers, separately from Cursor on your computer, so logging out on your computer does not log them out. To log them out, open Customize and log out on Plus's Cloud row. To sign out every app at once, disconnect Plus on your account page.

If sign-in fails, check your Things Cloud email and password in Things. If tasks are still loading, follow the progress page.
