Claude Code

Connect Claude Code to Things with two terminal commands, then plan and update tasks from your computer.

Before you start

You need Claude Code installed and signed in, plus your Things Cloud email and password. Claude Code runs on a computer. For your phone, use the Claude app.

Add Plus to Claude Code

  1. In your terminal, add the connector for all your projects:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user plus-for-things-3 https://things3.plus/mcp
  2. Open the Plus sign-in page:

    claude mcp login plus-for-things-3

Your browser should open. You can also type /mcp inside Claude Code, choose plus-for-things-3 and select Authenticate.

Finish connecting

  1. Sign in with your Things Cloud email and password, then accept the terms. Plus uses your password once to connect and does not store it.
  2. If asked, start your 7-day free trial or choose a plan. The trial needs no card. If you already have an account, you skip this step.
  3. Let Plus load your tasks. The page shows progress and takes you back to Claude Code when it is ready. You can return sooner and try again later.

Ask your first question

Run claude and try:

  • Turn these meeting notes into to-dos in my Work project in Things.

Claude Code asks before it uses a tool. Run claude mcp list if you want to check that Plus is connected.

Need help?

  • No browser opens? Run claude mcp login plus-for-things-3 --no-browser. Open the link it prints, then paste the address you land on back into the terminal.
  • Connection needs authentication? Run claude mcp login plus-for-things-3 again. Do the same after changing your Things Cloud password or disconnecting Plus.

If sign-in fails, check your Things Cloud email and password in Things. If tasks are still loading, follow the progress page.

Check the status page or email support@things3.plus if you still need help. The Claude Code MCP guide covers changes to your app's menus or commands.
